Train up a child in the way
he should go, and when he
is old he will not turn from it.

It’s hard to look out my window and type “spring” with a straight face. But it will be here before you know it. Beat the Christmas rush and have your kids join the hundreds of others who have made the Learning Center their homeschool away from home! Most classes are 50-minutes long and meet for 12 weeks. Tuition is typically $80 for the entire semester. Some classes have additional charges for class fees or textbooks. Tuition may be higher for classes that meet for
extended periods. You can find a complete list of classes and all our registrations materials at www.omahahomeschool.com.

I’d like to highlight two classes:

I’d like to spotlight a class taught by Constitution expert Glen Freeman, a veteran and former member of Chuck Hagel’s staff. Last year we had several adults enroll, which seems prudent, considering the fact that we may be facing the gravest threat to the Constitution since Roosevelt. This new offering will examine the amendments, the rise of political parties and the true meaning of the separation church state. Students will investigate competing interpretations:
does the original meaning of the document endure or can Americans create new meanings to suit their particular need?

I also want to remind everyone about our wonderful preschool class, Young Explorers. Every day features an art project, stories, games, songs and other themed-activities, as well as free play. Your kids get to do those messy art projects, but your house stays clean! This semester will feature Pajama Day, Hats Off To Presidents, turtles from Ak Sar Ben Aquarium and much more. I love to visit this classroom: the atmosphere is so peaceful and rich with students happily engaged in their activities. We see kids at this age just blossom in this setting. As one mom writes, “It's so nice that the kids can get a ‘preschool’ class experience without having to worry about unwanted
influences, curriculum, etc. It's just perfect!”
