American Letterpress: The Art of Hatch Show Print illustrates the fascinating fusion of art with popular culture and music history. Featuring the work of one of the nation’s oldest operating printing shops – Nashville, Tennessee’s Hatch Show.

Students will discover a piece of modern American History as they view Hatch Poster Illustrations. Older students (4th-12th) will explore the art of printmaking and participate in a hands- on workshop conducted by local printmaking artist, Carol Meis Ellington. Younger students (K-3rd) will learn about printmaking and other mediums of art as they expand their exploration to other parts of the museum and encounter a variety of art forms through observing and creating their own art!

Carol Meis Ellington is a member of the Cooperative Artist Gallery located in downtown Omaha.
