The Home Educators Network is an information and resource service organization designed to provide practical help, support and encouragement for home educators throughout Eastern Nebraska, Western Iowa and surrounding communities.
HEN provides:
- Communication - a monthly newsletter complete with timely articles and information about groups, activities and opportunities of interest to area homeschool families; an e-mail tree for time sensitive information; a website with valuable information, resources and links of interest to homeschool families
- Education - a quarterly new homeschooler orientation meeting; a summer conference with speakers, training workshops and community sponsors; a used curriculem sale; resources and information on educational opportunities
- Legislative Updates - keeping home educators informed of legislative and local education issues impacting home education
- Support - information about local support groups; an annual support group leader dessert for encouragement and communication; a discount for HEN activities and participating local businesses; HSLDA membership discount
