Purim Party March 21, 2008
Purim, the Story of Queen Esther, will be celebrated on
March 21, 2008 from 1:30pm to 3pm at the Confluence Bookstore
in Bellevue located at the intersection of Cornhusker and
Fort Crook Rd.
It is a costume party so come dressed as your favorite
biblical character (from the book of Esther or not)
We will have audience participation in the Good vs. evil
biblical play of Queen Esther and it is a blast! (GOD wins
of course!) Afterwards, we will play games, do crafts and
have a snack
There will be a small fee/family to cover the room fee.
RSVP to Cindy Sepulveda at cmfs1958@yahoo.com
or Trish Brennan at brenfam8@hotmail.com
by March 10th.
Confluence is excited to host our party and they really
like Home Schoolers! Invite friends as this is one of my
children’s favorite “fun” holiday!
Breakfast for Champions
The Breakfast For Champions (BFC) is dedicated to recognizing
and promoting commitment to the ideals of scholarship, leadership
and service among Nebraska's youth.
The event will be held Friday, May 16th, 2008 at the Bob
Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, to recognize outstanding
8th grade student leaders from across the state for their
gold-medal efforts in school and community.
2008 marks the sixth year that the Home Educators Network
(HEN) has sent an eighth grade representative to the Breakfast
for Champions. Two 8th graders will be selected to represent
HEN at the Breakfast For Champions. Applicants will be evaluated
by an independent judge who will select the honoree to represent
HEN.
All Breakfast for Champions honorees will become eligible
to receive the BFC Scholarship if they choose to attend
U.N.L. upon high school graduation. The deadline for application
is Friday, February 22. For the application form, please
visit http://www.omahahen.org/events/bkfstchampions.htm.
