Omaha Children's Museum 2008-09 Homeschool Classes

Omaha Children’s Museum is proud to present the 2008-09 Homeschool Series. Our Science and Technology Learning Lab has all the tools and utensils necessary for very scientific, highly educational, and extremely FUN investigation of math and science concepts. Come conduct experiments and create inventions with our trained museum educators. We invite homeschoolers in grades 1-6 to attend these dynamic hands-on labs!

1st & 3rd Tuesday of Each Month

ALL grades 1-6th will have the choice of a morning session or afternoon session. (There will not be a gap between grade levels.) All students will be accommodated in the same time slot which would be 10:00 am – Noon or afternoon 1:00 - 3:00

When you sign up you will need to tell us the session (morning or afternoon) and the grade level of your students. (They will be in groups First-Second; Third- fourth; and fifth-sixth)

Each session will be divided into three parts for your children:

  • A live demonstration presenting the topic of the day in a large group setting
  • A lab session in the lab (Edgerton group already have committed to dissecting labs at your request!)
  • A third session that will be hands on in nature with an extended lab type of experience, project, or creative learning game on the topic of the day.

We are very excited about this change because it will allow more learning for each student and accommodate at least an additional 20 students in both the morning and afternoon.

We think this modification is especially good for families that have kids in more then one grade level, filling the time gap from the previous schedule as well as expanding the learning opportunity for each student who participates.

We are looking forward to the coming school year to partner with you and hopefully able to serve additional families who have made the commitment to educate their children at home.

Cost: $3.50 per session or $52.00 a child for all 16 sessions.
Some of the themes may be the same but our labs are all new.
