Trinity Christian School Spring Festival

Art Division

If the instructor wants to write a short explanation to the judges about a particular project, please attach it to the inventory sheet. (i.e. mentioning this is a class project from a first grader the first week of school, or this is a free drawing a student has done independently, etc.)

Please note – all work must be original at all grade levels – no coloring book pages, photocopies, or kit projects.

Christian Philosophy of Art

Christ-centered, Biblically based,
honors the Creator as the Supreme Artist,
communicating beauty, holiness, truth,
and God's character,
emphasizing the use of our gifts given to us by our Lord
to be used for His glory,
to be used to serve others with a servant's heart,
to be judged on the basis of God's Word,
to be done with God's standard of excellence,
to integrate Scripture or Scriptural principles,
to encourage stewardship of art equipment and supplies,
to develop orderliness in personal work habits,
to aim to become Mighty In Spirit,
to demonstrate the qualities found in Daniel's life,
to be uncompromising in God's standard of holiness,
to develop inward character,
to become a man or woman after God's own heart
and to encourage students to become Artists of Integrity.

Biblical Visual Guideline
Philippians 4:8

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest,
whatsoever things are just,
whatsoever things are pure,
whatsoever things are lovely,
whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise,
think on these things."

Damages/Insurance

All schools participating in the festival are expected to have adequate insurance coverage for students, sponsors, and teachers. Trinity Christian School does not assume responsibility for these coverages.

Biblical Guidelines

All projects must follow the Philippians 4:8 guidelines. The student’s artwork must be an expression of a Christian world view. Bible verses are not required. Students may select an appropriate verse or Biblical principle.

Projects will not be judged or displayed if the judges feel that any of these guidelines or principles have been violated. Please discuss these guidelines and principles with the students early in the school year. All projects must be “in good taste.”

Matt and Frame Guidelines

All work must be matted or framed. Simple frames for flat work can be made by attaching the project to construction paper, poster board, or mat board. Select a color that harmonizes with one of the colors in the student’s project. All 3-D projects must sit on a paper base or piece of mat board.

All entries must be labeled with your school color coded identification label. The color coded label should be placed on the back or underneath each 3-D project to eliminate non-partial judging.

Misc. Information

Artwork will be displayed by category, according to grade level, wherever possible.

Trintiy Christian School does not assume responsibility for any loss or damage to any art projects while being judged, displayed, or picked up.
