Nebraska--Worst Bill in Recent History Introduced to Restrict Nebraska Homeschoolers' Freedom

Dear HSLDA Members and Friends:

Yesterday, Senator DiAnna Schimek introduced Legislative Bill 1141, the most threatening bill for Nebraska homeschoolers in recent history. The bill would severely restrict Nebraska homeschoolers' freedom by giving the State Department of Education more control over home education, including annual testing and evaluation requirements as well as oversight by certified teachers.

HSLDA is working with the Nebraska Christian Home Educators Association (NCHEA) to defeat this bill.
