The Organized Homeschooler
by Vicki Caruana

Have you ever considered doing a Bible study on “being organized?” As home schoolers, there are dozens of reasons we need to be organized. As Vicki says in her book, “Disorganization leads to disorder, creates chaos, and causes stress.” As we have all known for years, there are answers to all of life’s questions found in the Bible, even ones dealing with “organization.” This is one book that will not only lead you to ideas on how to combat clutter by creating and easy-to-use filing system, to valuable lists on keeping everything in order, as well as leading you to scriptures in Psalms and Proverbs that will help and encourage you on your quest for a more organized lifestyle, home, and school time.

Vicki has really made learning to be organized “a science”, so-to-speak. She has given checklists at the end of each chapter in 3 main areas. These are: heart matters, mind matters and body matters. When organizing, one area leads to the next, which leads to the next, and so forth. It requires learning through doing.
As Vicki states in her final comments of the book, “The quest for organization begins in the heart. Your desire to live a more orderly life will be honored because it is in accord with God’s will for you. One of the keys to becoming a more organized home schooler is found in that very word becoming. It is a gradual process. It will not happen overnight. There are so many old habits that must be extinguished. Allow the Holy Spirit to renew in you a sense of organization. Allow Him to work in your heart, so that you can then work in your home and in the lives of your children.

As you progress toward a more organized lifestyle, you will be blessed. God will bless you with more time, more energy, and more peace. And with these three things you can finally do all that He has called you to do. Right now He’s called you to teach your children. The time is now.”

This is a book for those who are disorganized and need a new way of doing things, as well as those people who already consider themselves to be semi organized to very organized. Let Vicki walk you through the steps as God leads you down the path of a more organized lifestyle.
